So you’re having twins?!

Dougie and Fletch arrived on the 23rd May 2016 via C-Section which by the way I thoroughly enjoyed, but more about that another time.

We had been trying to get pregnant for so long and I was so focused on the getting pregnant part that I had completely forgotten about the actual baby part so when we found out I was growing twin babies I was there thinking ‘how hard can it be?’ NAIVE. Twins are hard! Really hard, but also really worth it. Their cute bond makes every double nappy change worth every single sleepless night. Don’t get me wrong if either of them goes off routine I get a little bit anxious (if you know me you’ll know I get more than a little bit anxious) but once I have had a chance to catch up on some sleep I relax again and I couldn’t be happier if I tried.

Routines are pretty essential if you have twins (or more). They both sleep better at night if they have slept in the day and in my experience that bedtime hour sometimes known as the Witching Hour is less stressful if you follow the same pattern EVERY SINGLE night. Bath, bottle, bed. I still use Ewan the Dream Sheepย every night, he has become abit of a superstition they will still be listening to him while they fall asleep when they are 16…

Thanks for reading, my boys are both in bed now so I’m going to have a cup of Peppermint Tea with Manuka Honey and get myself an early night… Back soon.
