The Holy Grail of Haircare

I don’t think I have ever uttered a kind word about my hair in all my life but in the last couple of months I have noticed that I am complaining much less. I have quite thick, but fine hair which is VERY frizz prone. It is not curly however it is not straight, I wouldn’t even describe it as wavy because it is more curly than wavy… is that even possible?

I would LOVE and have spent many years and many pounds buying product after product to just leave my hair to air dry naturally. In theory my hair should be able to do this, it is not flat on the top and with my natural ‘wave’ should in the words of Nike Just Do It but it Just Doesn’t.

So whats changed?

I have been using some products religiously since Christmas 2017. This is something I have not done before I usually change the shampoo and conditioner every other time I wash my hair. This drives my boyfriend mad because our bathroom was absolutely full of every different brand of haircare, you name it and I own it. I have cut right down to one shampoo, one conditioner, one treatment andΒ one oil. I don’t use the treatment every time I wash maybe not even once a week as the twins wouldn’t let me have that much free time!

Below are my favourite products. I have been using them all for at least 5 months.

  • Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo
  • Aveda Damage Remedy Conditioner
  • Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme ( I have been using this regularly for a minimum of 6 years)
  • L’Oreal Mythic Oil

I do try to leave my hair every now and again to dry naturally but for the above selfies I rough dried, straightened and used a large barrel tong to give it some movement. It doesn’t suit me completely straight. I didn’t even expect my hair to look this nice in the photos, I was abit shocked how shiny and healthy it looks but it inspired me to write this post because I really do believe in these products and I have honestly tried ALOT of hair products. My obsession with beauty products doesn’t stop at skin you know…

One other product I use and have used for a few months now and could also be responsible for the health of my hair is Hairburst capsules. These are pretty well known on Instagram, they get heavily promoted by reality stars etc so when I saw them being sold in my local Holland & Barrett I decided to give them a go. I only noticed that they might be working when my hairdresser commented how quickly my hair had grown between appointments and also that it felt thicker than before so now I am addicted! If you are interested and you are in the UK I stocked up today in Holland & Barrett as they are in their Buy One Get One For A Penny Sale.

It’s true that everyones hair is different but I would definitely say that these products are worth a try…!
