I wrote a post yesterday about how my obsession with skincare is not as obsessive as it once was but I haven’t completed stopped washing my face so I thought I would write about a few of products I have tried recently, some I like, some not so much from a company called Beauty Pie.
I couldn’t resist. I gave in. I signed up to Beauty Pie. Have you heard of it? It’s a beauty brand selling skincare, make up, perfume, vitamin supplements and more. I had seen it advertised so much and lots of the products sound great but if you are not a member they are quite expensive. So I decided to give it a try, I paid for an annual membership which costs Β£59 and then you gain access to these great lower prices.
I will start off by saying I am still unsure if it is a fabulous idea or if it is (I am trying to find a nicer way of saying this…) a bit of a con. The idea is you get these wonderful expensive products for less than you would if you bought them in the shop. Except you can’t buy them in the shop and the only person telling you they are worth these high prices is the Company itself…having said all this I still parted with Β£59 for the membership and have ordered a few products.
Here is what I have ordered so far and would I buy again YES or NO:
- Triple Beauty Luminizing Wand YES
- Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti Aging Cream ( Full size gift with purchase) NO
- Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum YES
- La Poesie des Chiffres Eau De Parfum NO NO NO NO NO NO
- Superdrops High Intensity Hydration NO
- Triple Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Miracle Cream YES
The products that I would buy again are pretty self expanatory, the luminizing wand is a really nice highlighter. I like the wand application and I like the glow it gives with no glitter. It’s a nice product. Both Triple Hyaluronic products feel like they are giving your skin a drink and I had no dryness at all when using them, make up goes on nicely after and they were definitely not matte. So if you are not so sure about the glowy look and prefer less shine these might not be for you. I’m not interested in looking matte at all so I would repurchase both these.
Now for the NO’S. Super Healthy Skin Cream impressed me initially. I enjoyed the texture and smell and used up probably half the pot before I realised that maybe it was just pleasing to use and didn’t actually have any real benefits. I wasn’t noticing any improvement in my skin…. I will more than likely use up the pot eventually but I doubt I would buy it. An excellent freebie I must add! Superdrops were a NO. I did not feel like my skin was hydrated after using them and I didn’t wake up with plump skin as promised, I will stick with Triple Hyaluronic over these.
As for the perfume. I have learn’t a valuable lesson here. Never buy perfume online using reviews from strangers as a guide. My goodness I hated this fragrance. I can’t even describe the smell, it just did not please me one bit. I showed my Mum and she agreed, it made us feel slightly sick. I was so disappointed that I nearly emailed Beauty Pie to complain and ask if it was possible to refund as obviously I had opened and used it but to be honest I am using it as a lesson learned. I will not make that mistake again!
