I had been using the same products quite religiously for a good long while but noticed that my skin was starting to look abit dull. I never felt like my skin glowed like it used to. So I thought I would change it up abit. I decided to add in a hyaluronic mist for extra hydration but I have also changed the cleanser I use every morning. I am of course completely unsure whether my face looks any different to the general public but I certainly feel like it has a slightly more youthful appearance lately.
Here is what I am loving right now
I found a Garnier cleanser in Sainsbury’s that sounded so good I decided to try it and so far I am quite impressed. It lathers but not in a soapy bubbly way, more like a creamy lather so doesn’t feel drying on my skin and it smells of lemongrass which reminds me of a spa. It doesn’t break me out and cost about £6 so I count that as a win.
My next step is an old favourite which I stopped using when I was pregnant and had somehow forgot that I enjoy using and that is Paula’s Choice BHA liquid exfoliant. I remember when I was using it everyday before conceiving that the pores on my nose were much less obvious so I have been using this after the Garnier cleanser, mornings only.

I let the PC exfoliant dry slightly on my skin before spritzing with Balance Me Hyaluronic Plumping Mist again a supermarket find, not expensive and smells like a spa treatment but feels cooling and refreshing on my face. I have always enjoyed this step but usually forget all about it, do you remember the Caudalie Beauty Elixir I was obsessed, I wonder if they still make that?

Before the mist has a chance to completely dry I go over with two pumps of Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic Serum, I am still undecided whether this is any better that any other Hyaluronic serum but I have used nearly the whole bottle so I definitely do not dislike it…

Now this is the part of my routine I am most unsure about and it isn’t the product itself but the point at which I apply it. I feel like everything I do up to this point is in the correct order however I have to use a vitamin c product every day to protect my skin from those UV rays but I am not sure if after the hydrating serum is the correct place. I don’t want to do it after the exfoliant and before the mist, but I also don’t want to do it after the mist and before the hyaluronic serum. It’s a pickle. So I have been using it as step number 5 and it seems to be working fine for me but I am open to suggestions on this one… I am back using Skinceuticals CE Ferulic serum, I do think it really is the best vitamin c serum I have tried but it is pricey. I keep it in the box so as not to let the light get to the bottle as Vitamin C can oxidise and become ineffective.

At the moment I have been using Dr Sams Flawless moisturiser every morning, I still love it. The last step in my routine is always SPF 50, I use every single day La Roche Posay Hydrating cream SPF 50, it is hydrating and rich and leaves my skin glowy, some may shiny but I like that. It also does not sting my eyes which is a problem with other SPFs I have found. I admit I occasionally buy a new one to try but always end up going back to LRP. I was actually thinking the other day, I hope they never discontinue this!

I hope you find this post helpful and remember it is never too late to start using SPF!
